Circa 234 BC – 149 BC, Marcus Porcius Cato aka “Cato the Wise” aka “Cato the Ancient” was a Roman Senator best known for his classical values, military service and authorship of histories in Latin.
Alas, we chose the name Cato for a product that breaks with tradition and collides elements of Surfing, Swimming and Kiting wetsuits.
For Surfing, the Ichiban infused Cato offers a cushy 4MM front torso panel of Geoprene with chamberZERO Technology. 4MM thickness protects the ribs and chamberZERO Technology not only reflects the body’s natural insulation but also captures radiant heat inside small air chambers.
For swimming, paddling and overall flexibility, the Cato wetsuit is unrivaled. The back panels are 2MM from the shoulder blades to the achilles — with 1.5MM Geoprene throughout the neck, shoulders and arms. The same ergonomic fit of the Dojo Triathlon wetsuit – only with top notch durability via Geoprene covered in ultra durable HydraSilk.
For Kiting, the Cato’s unique front panel cuts through the wind with minimum evaporative heat loss. It also features higher-than-normal ankles to reduce water collecting in the leg – with glued and blind-stitched seams and Satin Seal taping throughout.
